Rajesh P Sharing Problem.....!? - Rajesh P Hi I am facing sharing problem. Can any one of u help me Please.........! I am having 10 PC with Windows XP SP2, all are connected through Cisco Switch. I am not having any server. only LAN. and named as system1, system2,....system10. I wanted to share one folder in system1, only system 7, system 8 should be able to access systems 1's shared folder with authentication(logon window). please help me out in this regard. Best Answer: you can do that.. 1.system 1 must have username and password. 2.right click the folder you want to share it and click properties 3.go to sharing tab and click "share this folder" 4.click permission and remove evryone 5.click add and enter the user that having password on system1 6.logoff system1 and try good luck - Amer S
you cannot filter the sharing. when you enable the sharing of the folder, all the computers in that workgroup will see it. if you create multiple workgroups may fix it, but if you have one computer able to see both workgroups will undo it all. a work around would be to download a folder lock program and put password on the folder, - chezzrob
