Suddenlink cable internet always disconnects with my router.? - Elementz I have suddenlink cable internet and every time i try to connect my laptop to it, I always get "local" only. It's gotten to the point where I have to wait about ten minutes every time i want to connect and even if i connect, i sometimes get disconnected. I don't know if this is a laptop thing or a router problem or internet problem. I have a toshiba satellite L305D-S5893 and my router is a Trendnet TEW-631BRP. Other info: this is the second router that is having problems cooperating with my internet.

Best Answer: upgrade the firmware on the router.......... Step 1 Log into the Router by entering its IP address into a browser. The default IP address is http://192.168.1.1. At the login, enter your username (admin) and password (blank). Step 2 Click “Tools” on the left hand side then click on “Firmware”. Step 3 Click on “Browse” next to the box under the Firmware Upgrade section. Locate and select the firmware file then click “Upload”. It will take approximately 30 seconds to upgrade the firmware and the access point to restart. - IT Council

Try changing the MTU setting in the router from 1500 to 1400 - forcrynoutloud
