Best Answer: Joe, I'm a Canon fan, but you'll find that just as many people swear by Nikon, Olympus, Sony, or a few of the other brands you've listed. I've owned cameras by 6 of the makers you've listed. Depending on what kind of camera you want, and the features you are looking for, price range and a few other variables, there are good and not so good, cameras made by all of those manufactures. I'd start out with a Panasonic Lumix with a Leica lense, a Sony with a Carl Zeiss lense, an Olympus with a Zuiko lense, then follow with a Canon or Nikon. Good luck! - VicSEO

i just bought a cannon with 20x zoom. it is pretty easy to use and takes great pictures! there are several brands that are good. just do some research and take into account what you want to do with the camera and your budget. - professor
