{[[ ShadY ]]} question about ps3 and hdmi? - {[[ ShadY ]]} i have a full hd 40" samsung new tv just bought it and duh i have a ps3 i got some new games and want to enjoy their full graphics so i thought of buying a monster 1080p hrmi cable but my friend told me that tht cable will only show up to 1080i not 1080p jus because my tv is under 50 inches in size is that true? how? please say no because i dun have cash to buy a new tv thanks and sorry for bad english =P
Best Answer: The cable you have will work perfectly well. Your friend is totally wrong, lol I'm glad it was a present though, and you didn't pay for it, because a cheap HD-MI cable will work just as well, the expensive ones are a con, but anyway, you have it, and it will work fine:) Your TV is perfect as well. You'll get the best out of the PS3, and Blue-ray movies:) - Abi
monster hdmi cable is not worth buying you will still see full hd on a standard hdmi cable your friend is speaking a lie the tv size is just wright and you are lucky to have full hd because with your ps3(which is also full hd)you can evjoy the most amazing games do not go and get a new lcd tv and waste your money
Well it is definitely not true you should shoot your friend :) you can get 1080p with a Monster cable but don't waste 100 dollars on just one cable, if you have a swap meet close by just go and look for a good branded HDMI, im telling you this because i went today and got 2 HDMI cables for $2.50 each so you get the picture but f you dont have one close just buy a good price cable.. - fbn55
Your friend does not know much about the HD tv details, not to be rude. Here is the downlow. I would say you should NEVER buy a product from Monster. They are rediculously overpriced, and ALL HDMI cables are near exactly the same. I can briefly explain HDMI: HDMI is an all-digital multimedia cord. It basically sends sound, brightness, digital commands, and beautiful picture DIRECTLY to your television with no signal interference. HDMI has already evolved though. There are newer HDMI 1.3 cables that support HNCP. It is much better, and anything in the past 3 years is most likely 1.3. Every HDMI cable that supports those functions transmits 1080p picture. It can actually transmit 1220p, but we have yet to make a tv that good. If you want, you can buy a Vizio cable from wal mart for about $30 bucks. These are the best, and they look pretty nice too. Yes, you will get 1080p picture. when you hook it up, let it automatically set the picture. Then, under display settings, set it to limited and turn on all of the pluses. - JabbaB
