Kimberly Static noise on tv while hooked to cable? - Kimberly All of the sudden, our TV has a static noise on it while hooked to cable (with box, or directly into wall makes no difference). You can still hear the shows volume, but there is static mixed in. I hate to bring it in for repair, since it's outdated - 31 in big huge monster of a TV. Seems like you can get new flat screens for so little ..... any ideas?
Best Answer: Typically this is the speaker volume control going "out" on your TV. Being that the TV is old I would say it is the TV but without being there to test it with another TV I could not reasonable tell you that. It may just be that input on the TV as well. If you can change the input to Input 1 or something similar then it may go away and just be the connection being used for the cable. The only other thing it may be is the F-81 barrel has been jarred loose and is causing a short in the back of the TV which is producing noise and being deciphered by the speakers. - Cable Guy
