Question and Answers

How to make people understand that a website is NOT the "panacea universalis" for success? - I keep seeing (and answering, believe it or not!) questions on "how to make money from my blog/website", "how to get more visitors?", "I have a site up for two months, and I have no orders, Why?" HOW can we make people to understand that: 1. A proper website is NOT free. 2. A proper website development is NOT free. 3. Extra features on a website are NOT free. 4. A website is not the miracle solution for failing businesses. 5. You are not going to get millions of visitors in a week following your set-up. 6. Professional websites are a MARKETING tool, not a solution. 7. Websites should be built following marketing rules, and not "feelings", "shapes" or "colo(u)rs"???? etc etc etc. HOW can we tell people to stop DREAMING, and, most of the time, spend fair bit of money in developing things that will NEVER WORK? HOW, WHERE can we TEACH these dreamers that the web is a cut-throat business where their chances are 1 in a million to start with?

Yeah, I firmly believe in you. 100% you're right. Website is merely a tool to market and not a holistic approach to success. - Marxman
How could we ever convince them that they can't make $90 an hour with a free site while they sleep? They read it in an ad in their Yahoo email account. ∠°) - Angela Q
I don't believe we can. The ones who know what they're doing will succeed; the ones who don't will fail until they figure out what they're doing. And once they do they might wise up and get into a more promising business. If they want to learn, they'll learn for themselves. - Jack
