MICHAEL A What is the problem with my lcd tv? - MICHAEL A i have a philips 32" lcd flattv, it isnt that old but is way out of warranty, i have fixed lcd tv's in the past by changing caps etc.. the problem with this one is it had a green light but no picture or sound , i took it apart to see if there were any burn marks or smells and if there were any blown capacitors or fuses, but there was nothing, i checked all the cables etc.. and all seemed fine, i put it all back together and now i have just the red light , it wont go green and the red light dont flash, anyone got any ideas what is wrong with it, do you think it is a power board issue or something else, backlights are working as i have tested them with a back light tester that i made up. any help would be great . thank you
Best Answer: Check your 5 volt standby to see if it's at 5 volts or not...if it is, replace the SSB module and reprogram it. Then see if the inverter fires up. If it doesn't, replace the SMPS module. - TV Tech 1
