Question and Answers

azn Help with my s-video output and input.? - azn Ok, here i go. So i called the hp company and ask them about my computer of why my hp touchsmart iq506 won't send the view of my computer's screen( means my iq506 hp touchsmart screen) to my TV's screen. My computer contain a s-video port and so does my HITACHI 52"inches tv! I called the hp touchsmart company and asked them about this problem. They said" your computer has an input s-video, which means you can only but tv stuff onto your computer not from your computer to the tv." Then i ask them of a way where i can change my computer to an output rather than an input. I think they replied to me saying, " you can use a USB video adaptor-USB to VGA adaptor. Plugg that stuff up in your USB ports." i asked them to help me more but they said that this is their limits, " for further more questions please do research on it. This is our limit of helping you through this process." Now, i just want to know does the " USB video adaptor-USB to VGA adaptor" compatible for a s-video function? can i change my computer from a s-video to something else and what the heck is a VGA and a DVI? Will this "USB" work for my computer where as my computer can now become an output rather than an imput. Since i change my computer to an output(if i can by you guys helping me, love yall =D) then my tv can be an input. I want the downloaded movies on my computer to be shown on the bigscreen such as a tv! They also mention a bit about the NVIDIA card. They said" your computer might not support the 2 screen functionality." Im pretty sure it does. My NVIDIA shows number 1 and 2 but number 2 is disable or unattached. By the way, i have window vista 64 bits home premium. Some of you guys/girls might say, well... turn on the 2nd screen or attach it." Well i did and still it doesn't work. In conclusion, i need you guys/girls to help me create my computer into an output and somehow change my computer usage from a s-video usage to a higher HD usage. I heard s-video doesn't give you much resolution and lower graphic than some other kinds out there( it's alway your option to help me with the change s-video to high HD thingy.I don't need it that badly. All i really need right now is to get my computer screen to be visible on the tv).Again, will the "USB video adaptor-USB to VGA adaptor" work in some ways or anyway i can make it work( kinda the same question xD). Any NVIDIA step you can show me for Window vista home premium 64 bits where i can get it to work?? I really, really, really appreciate those that take out there times to help me with this problem. Yes, i did many research on this, but still..im clueless. Again i would really, really (1564 times) appreciate your effort and help. Thank you.
Best Answer: It is really NOT worth outputing S-video out of a PC. S-video is only SD, so it will look awful on your TV. Plus the Touchsmart is supposed to be BOTH a TV and a PC. so you try to do something that was never designed for that product. Without even a VGA output port I really can't see how you can pipe the video output through the USB port. At this point, it is really not worth spending any more time or money. At the end, with s-video only, the quality will be really bad. - TV guy
