Windi S Can I get movies from my JVC camcorder to my computer somehow? - Windi S I have this JVC compact VHS camcorder (about 7 years old or so...) I don't really know much about it. I am wondering if there would be any way to get the video from the camcorder TO my computer? I have looked at the owners manual and it doesn't say anything about connecting to a computer, I was just wondering if anyone has either done this or attempted it? Any suggestions would be nice or am I just screwed?
Best Answer: VHS-C is analog. You need an analog/digital converter. The camcorder AV cables plug into the camcorder like you would normally when connecting the camcorder to a TV. Instead of plugging into the TV, plug into the A/D converter. The A/D converter plugs into the computer. Low-end version like the Pinnacle Dazzle and other USB-connecting products (from Roxio, among many others) should work - but the video quality may not be so good. If your computer has a firewire port, Canopus make the ADVC55 and ADVC110 that can provide appropriate connectivity and better video quality transfer. - Little Dog
Transfer video from VHS camcorders and VCR to your computer. Give new life to your old VHS tapes. Capture video on hard drive to MPEG-2 or MJPEG formats and save your computer free space. http://www.mp4kits.com/Converter/Video/vhs_video_converter/
**If you have an analog (VHS) camcorder… or VHS-c... You need an analog converter, either internal card or external such as the dazzle. It's very easy to use and come with good software. You would hook your analog VHS camera or VCR to the analog converter, the dazzle and then hook the dazzle to your PC. The dazzle cost around 85.00 , but worth the money if you have a lot of VHS to tapes to convert. Anytime you convert analog to digital, you will lose quality, but loss of quality is better than losing all those old memories. **Please Note There is no 8mm or Hi 8 to VHS Adapter that currently exists. This type of VHS Adapter only exists with VHS-C tape - snowwillow20
