gabe t split audio out of HDMI cord into RCA? - gabe t i am buying a nice 25" gaming monitor: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4312740&csid=ITD&body=MAIN#detailspecs and i am wondering if there is a way to split the audio from an HDMI cord into 1 HDMI cord and 2 RCA white and red audio cables. BTW the reason i am wondering is because of the fact that the monitor has really bad speakers and no audio out.
Best Answer: I've also got a large monitor that I've been using for my PS3, 360, and gaming PC, so I know what you mean. All three have ways to do this. The official 360 HDMI kit has a hookup that gives you the red/white out, but thats expensive so here's a cheaper alternative... http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.24868 it's not the official product, but its cheap and the site is good (I've ordered a number of things off of it with no problems what-so-ever). It does take about 2 weeks to get here since it ships from overseas, but its worth it. For the PS3 you can simply have both the HDMI and regular composite cables hooked up. Then you simply set it to use the HDMI for video, and scart option for audio. Its a very simple process, and works very well. For a PC you just have to plug into the usual place for audio since it outputs for both the HDMI and regular audio hookup. Really the PS3 and PC are easiest, but the 360 can be done with just a little bit of work. - Woden501
No But most devices can output in parallel BOTH digital audio and analog audio (Because they need to support DVI-based monitors). So no splitter is needed. It is there already. - TV guy
