Best Answer: didn't you just ask this like 20 mins ago? don't do it, use the restore partition on the system... sorry, i guess it's the same question from another user. there should be a recovery partition on the drive accessed by f11 or alt+f11 or some such keystroke posted at startup. whne you use this, it will re-install windows after re-formatting the drive, if you choose, or re-install safely leaving the file system in tact so as to not loose data. but then you have an extra windows folder... additionally, a recovery will store all the problems you're having now and re-install as it is now, so it's pointless. you're supposed to make those when it's fully installed and working correctly. - ez80227
all programs->accesseses->system tools->system restore it wont restore it but it will take it back to the date you want it to be - Omar Alvarez
The recovery disk will re-install windows, but be careful- it will also delete everything you have on your computer- all your pictures, music, documents, etc and put the computer back the same was as it was when it was new and was taken out of the box. - Jason
NO!!!!!!! if you reformat you will need the original disk AND the drivers. believe me I did it. - Amy
