iLikeTheView How to Access my old Dell Poweredge 300SC Server wireless? - iLikeTheView Hello all, I have an old PowerEdge 300SC server, running Windows 2000 Server. It works like a charm, and I am really happy with it. I have a 3com network card with a physical ethernet network wire that plugs into it from my wired router. I want to install a wireless router, and want to make my PowerEdge 300SC to have the capability to be accessed wireless-ly. But I am afraid that the architecture in that machine is so old that it may be hard for me to find a wireless network card for that old machine. Will a Network Bridge be a good idea, or do I install a wireless network card? What is the easiest way to access my PowerEdge 300SC wireless-ly? Any help would be deeply appreciated!
Best Answer: Most wireless routers have RJ-45 jacks in the rear of the units to allow you to still add your server onto your network via the Cat-5 or 6 (depending on which cabling your using). This is the easiest method. If your server has PCI slots then you could simply put a PCI wireless card in there. Most still support server 2000. -
