how much could i get for a 1998 computer running widnows xp? - ethen7 its in very good condition. and its actually not that slow. i use it all the time. in fact i live off of it. i am just looking for an upgrade. i think it has about 23GB of space. im not sure. it has at least 3 hard drive inserts. 2 usb ports all the normal computer connections.....one CD drive, and a flopy drive. yea. oh and the screen is an older and bigger SAMPO. 15.5" if you would like to buy it i would be more than welcome to sell it! thats why im asking how much for it.

when posting a pc for sale it is more important to post the actual parts rather than the peripherals. consider posting the motherboard, processor(which can't possibly be any good from 1998) the amount of RAM (which can't possibly be fast or a high amount from 1998) the video card (which cannot possibly compare to the cheapest circuit city card) whether or not it has on board sound, with all this in mind, today u can get a quad core 4 gig 8800GTS pc for under 700 bux, and that would probably make anything that was maxed out in 1998 explode. for 299 u can get a dell mini which is better than 1998 parts. either way, there is no way you're really going to be able to sell that pc, considering shipping costs more than its probably worth. sorry about that. - DJ

In my opinion you'll be lucky to get rid of it for free. Most recycling centers don't recycle for free. My advice would be to watch for a local recycling event, sometimes those are free of charge. - D. Trane

I wouldn't pay you the coins lifted from my fat friend's Cheeto dust-covered couch for that relic. Donate the thing to some poor minorities for a tax credit instead.

Sorry Ethan, but since it is 11 years old, its considered an antique by todays standards, XP or no. You might be lucky to sell it for $25 to someone. - Jim
