Slow internet connection 10 points.? - H&R I'm experiencing a slow internet connection for both downloading & browsing I have the following specs: 1-DSL with 512 speed. 2-3COM router & D-link wireless adapter. 3-Windows 7 4-Pc with 3.4 Pentium 4 & 2GB ram, 200GB HD (not sata). My ISP said to me that they have no problem with them, Ihave noticed an improvement in my internet speed when running my pc in safe mode with internet connection. I have no virus, bo trojan, no spyware...my system is running with BitDefender internet security 2010 and ad-aware spyware protection. Tried different wireless channels and didn't help either. Please, help.

Best Answer: Try doing a full blown maintenance run on it like defrag, clear ALL temp files and cookies and so on. If it runs better in safe mode, there is something on the pc somewhere that is causing it. - John K

I am sorry if this doesn't help but i'm going to tell you any way... Your problem might be the fact that your provider e.g. virgin media etc. are not giving you enough bandwidth or Mbps & Mbps stands for millions of bits per second or megabits per second and is a measure of bandwidth. and if you don't get much of his it may cause your computer connection to run slow.
