Once you have installed the CD that came with it, go in the HP folder in the START menu and click on 'HP Solution Center' You will see the SCAN button on the left. Put your document face down on the glass and click on that BUTTON. It will power on the scan light automatically. Set the resolution in the scanner setup, to 300 dpi for a decent scan or 600 dpi for photos :) - T-Bar

collect the driver software from hp support and install it in your system and start scanning anything u like - Kailash B
