Question and Answers

access points / bridges? - I currently have a Belkin Wireless Router attached to my Zoom ADSL modem. The router provides the wireless access to the Zoom but offers no additional firewalls etc. I already have a second belkin wireless router and want to set this up downstairs so that I can wire some wired devices to the downstairs hub and have this router and the one connected to the Zoom just pass data between them. How do I get this to work? Do I need to set this second point up as an AP or a wireless bridge in order the have the two wireless routers just pass the data back and forward and trick the wired devices into thinking they are plugged into the wall?
Best Answer: yes that is my set up almost exactly. i have a modem/gateway router upstairs as my ap then downstairs i have a zoom set up as client bridge connected to a desktop and it runs good. whichever router has the bridge option is the one you need to use for the bridge obviously. most routers do not have that option, you have to make sure it does. check which one can be set up as a bridge then you can set it up as a repeater too to extend your wireless signal. - Jesse
