Julie How,if possible,do you connect a bluetooth to your laptop? - Julie I have a plantronics bluetooth, and I'd like to connect it to my laptop so I can talk on Ventrilo.I've got a toshiba satellite A215-S6820 laptop, and when I search bluetooth it comes up with 'bluetooth settings' and 'bluetooth information exchanger' but I'm not sure how to get the laptop to recognize the bluetooth, would I need a cord?
Best Answer: It shows that Blue Tooth is optional on your model, look in all programs and see if it is listed, maybe under accessories. You can also look in hardware and device manager or on bottom of the lap top for a sticker saying Blue Tooth certified. Go to http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp and download the user manual for the lap top. - Bassman1
go to the Bluetooth setting then select Add Device look up your headset then find a pairing mode for that headset. - litlfitz
You need to have the laptop search for broadcasting devices. When it finds them it will tell you that it can associate to them. You just associate with your bluetooth device and your good to go.
uhm... no. no cord. The whole idea behind bluetooth is to eliminate cords. You need to read the user manual for your plantronics headset with Bluetooth wireless capability to figure out how to put it into "pairing" mode and then have your laptop's Bluetooth software search for Bluetooth devices. BTW Bluetooth is a wireless technology, not another name for a headset. - annorax64
First, make sure that your laptop has a Bluetooth unit built in and/or connected. Then go to the Bluetooth settings and select "Add a device" and then look in your headset's manual for how to put it into "pairing mode" or "discoverable mode". Usually you just hold down the power button for an extra 5-15 seconds. - Dr Macinyasha
You have to get the computer to search for any bluetooth devices. Once it finds you plantronics then you can connect and will be able to use it. - BigPoppa
