In other words, I want to be able on both computers have 1 documents folder that is able to be changed and accessed by the user, on both computers.
Best Answer: To rule out half the list of steps you just mentioned, can you successfully ping between the two machines? If so then all the steps referencing the cabling, IP scheme and NIC drivers become irrelevant. After that, can one computer access a shared folder from the other? Make a shared folder on "right", and on the "left" computer open My Computer and enter "\\192.168.0.2\" in the address bar. Hit enter. Is the folder there? Break the assignment down into parts and sort out which part isn't working. edit: Also, how is this a Cisco assignment? No routers or switches, two directly connected hosts with a crossover cable, this is more of a Microsoft or CompTIA assignment, not very characteristic of Cisco. - Quadratic
There are a remarkable of free Cisco books online for such topics. I think your problem is not difficult to solve if you are following a certain reference. Try to search for free-ebooks. Try this one: www.ebookee.cn - C-Ray
