James Is it the Age of the Projector or the Hours on the Bulb? - James So what I am wondering is does the age of the actual projector itself matter, or is it the age of the lamp inside it? I just purchased a Hitachi CP-S225 Multimedia Projector from eBay. It comes with a brand new bulb. So will the fact that the projector itself is a few years old make a difference? Thanks, Kris
Best Answer: It's the Bulb. That Hitachi is rated at 1100 Lumens, which is not the brightest on the market, but is darned near overkill for home use. My company uses a minimum of 2500 Lumens but that's for use in Theaters. 1100 Lumens is real good for home use. A new bulb is a real good thing as well. A new bulb for that little guy retails for over $150. If you look hard enough you can find them cheaper, perhaps $99, but they aren't cheap at all. It's not the kind of thing you want to fall asleep and leave on all night long. One last thing...Hitachi is a very good brand in that line of devices. db - Dave B
