embeedeuce What budget receiver can I use to replace my Onkyo TX-DS989.? - embeedeuce My Onkyo TX-DS989 is on the fritz. One of the channels went dead, and now it simply wont power up. Money is tight these days, so I'm wondering if someone can suggest a value priced temporary replacement receiver. Ideally I'd still want the 7.1 channels, Dolby and DTS etc. Alternately, used Onkyos or local service centers in Los Angeles. Thanks!
Best Answer: I found this Yamaha receiver on sale at Radio Shack for $129.00: http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/productdetail.html?CNTID=200504&CNTYP=PRODUCT&LGFL=Y Sometimes Radio Shack gets manufactures close outs on some good electronics....This particular receiver has all the features, but it doesn't have HDMI input...I use a toslink cable (optical) and it works great. - Harry714
