Ethan how do i get surround sound to my ps3, xbox 360 and my TV channels? - Ethan I have a Toshiba 40RV525R 40' full HD LCD, it has 3 hdmi ports, a digital audio out. ps3 with digital port, and a hdmi port. xbox 360 older version. I have one Rocketfish 4' toslink optical cable. the receiver i have is a pioneer-SSOW 5.1-ch. it has two hdmi inputs, 3 digital audio inputs.
Best Answer: Connect your cable box to the receiver using HDMI cable, then connect an HDMI cable from the receiver to the tv. Connect the PS3 using HDMI cable to the receiver and XBOX with HDMI to the tv and an optical cable to the receiver. Select the input used for PS3 or XBOX when you want to hear the sound, select the input used when you want to hear the tv. Keep in mind that most tv programs are in stereo and only those that are mark dolby surround will have surround sound. Hope this will help you out. - bbt91945
Connect HDMI or component cables from PS3, Xbox and cable box to TV for video then optical cable ( surround sound ) or red & white cables ( stereo ) from them to receiver for audio. - BANG P
