ufo_big I bought a Panasonic phone with charger input power 110V/60HZ.How can I use it in India (220V/50Hz)? - ufo_big Help required for Panasonic telephone model KX-TG1061M I am from Navi Mumbai Maharashtra, India. I purchased this product during my holiday trip to Singapore. While trying to use this product in India, I found the power source here is 220V/50 Hz.In the charger it is mentioned that input source should be 110V/60 Hz. What should I do? Kindly help
Best Answer: a) Find the voltage you need; say 6 V DC b) Find the max amperage the phone needs Both are usually listed on the power adapter (say, 9V, 1 A) Then go buy a power adapter with 220V input and output the SAME Voltage and at least as many amps (More Amps is OK) Or go buy a transformer 220V to 110 V AC. - TV guy
You should get a compatible replacement supply that accepts your domestic mains current. Yes, you could get a converter transformer, but for the small amount of power a cordless phone base uses, they would be a waste of some power, plus take extra space. - classicsat
In Singapore 220 volts 50 cycles electronic goods are available.Perhaps you are unaware of this . Please check some chargers have an option to switch over to 220 v. If it is not there you can always buy a step down charger that converts 220 v to 110 v. But what you cannot change is that 60 cycles to 50 cycles. This results some distortion in tonal quality. In Mumbai you can buy the step down charger. - satabhisham
