Connor K Which of these tv's is the best replacement for my current pioneer (its a free replacement)? - Connor K Samsung PN50B650 Panasonic TCP50V10 Sony KDL52S5100
Best Answer: Ah the Panasonic hands down. The Panasonic Viera Plasmas are what go toe to toe with Pioneer Kuro Elite in "nerd tests." And that was the last year's models. The current models, so that V series you have listed, can really push the Kuro Elite for top dog quite well. I wouldn't even hesitate for a second. That is most definitely the proper "replacement" for a Pioneer. The Samsung would be a strong choice too. Its just not quite as top tier as the V series from Panasonic. I'd expect it to perform really well though, but again, just not quite as good. The Sony is a TERRIBLE replacement choice. The S series is Sony's entry level line. That's not the line you want from Sony for a 52" TV. You should be looking at a Sony W series minimum, and even that would be pushing it. To replace a Pioneer, I'd actually want a Sony XBR8 or XBR10 frankly. - jf
