xbox 360 flashing questions??? (Hitachi drive)? - So I am new to flashing and have a few questions... Like do I want 1.51 or 1.6 becuase i am really confused about the whole activation disc. Like i know you need it for wave 4 but i read that for the other drives and wasn't sure about this one... Thanks ever so much for you help
Best Answer: Actually flashing a drive is not illegal. There is no law in the world that states you cannot update firmware to a DVD drive. It is simply against Microsofts Terms of Service and can possibly get you banned from Xbox live. That is all. Big difference between illegal, and against TOS. Copying Pirated games is illegal, selling pirated copies is illegal, but flashing a drive is not. You also are allowed by law to make a single backup of any DVD/CD/Tape/8-Track/Reel to reel/Floppy etc... that you own, and maybe the Asker of this question is simply playing his backups which is completely legal, and requires flashing of the Xbox360s DVD drive. There is no firmware for wave 4 yet. There is a leaked iextreme update, but I would not trust it. - kaiser
Flashing a drive to play pirated games is illegal. You cannot ask how to do it here and no one is going to help you. - Milk84
