130 Watts Into 6 Ohms business? - Im looking to buy two Cerwin Vega VE 12's powered by a pioneer receiver, i have around 500 quid tops to spend. I just dnt understand the whole 130 watts into 6 ohms thing, will it be sufficient enough to power my cerwins? (They have an output of 320Watts) please keep things simple, thank you :)
Best Answer: That is the "Rated" power OUTPUT of the receiver. The CV's have a max power INPUT of 320 watts. That receiver will be fine. My only recommendation is to perhaps look at a different pair of speakers. Paradigm makes extraordinary speakers at good prices. Their "Mini Monitors" are exceptional. - thinkbrown
Speakers don't have power outputs...that rating is power handling and like many "power ratings" is frequently vastly optimistic. A 100 watts RMS (NOT peak) into 8 ohms is plenty.
