Question and Answers

vampire_chelsea How do I hook my PS3 up to HDMI? - vampire_chelsea I have a Vizio television with AV 1, AV 2, Component 1, Component 2, TV, and HDMI 1, and HDMI 2. My direcTV is plugged into HDMI 1, my DVD player/VCR into AV 2, and my X-box into component 2. I hooked the HDMI cable into HDMI 2, then hooked it into my PS3 (which has the composite cables in AV 1). When I turned it on it said it had detected an HD cable and if I wanted to switch over. I said yes and the screen goes black. And that's it. The PS3 stays on but nothing shows on AV 1 or HDMI 2. Can anyone help me? I'm tired of my blurry gaming!
Best Answer: Do a Video Reset. First, unplug the AV cables. Switch your TV to HDMI 2. Put the PS3 in stand by mode (red light on front of the PS3). Now hold the power button down until you hear two beeps (about 5 seconds). The PS3 will now turn on and automatically set itself up to the cable that is connected (HDMI) and to the TV that is being used (Vizio). After the screen comes on, then you can plug the AV cables back in (not necessary). If you still can't see the screen, then you have a bad HDMI input on the TV or a bad HDMI cable. If you think it might be the cable, use the one from your Satellite box and see if the PS3 works. If it does, then it is your cable. If it doesn't, then it is something in the plugs, either on the TV or on the PS3. Make sure all cables are plugged in tight. - adidasĀ®
