Best Answer: I just installed a Netgear wireless router last night... Netbook, and only the CD supplied by Netgear... I placed the CD into another computer, copied the content of the CD to a USB memory stick, then created a folder in the netbook and moved the content of the cd to the netbook's hard drive. I unconnected all the other systems, did a reset of the newer router (small pin hole on the back paper clip fit). I then connected the netbook to the router with a cat 5 cable, turned off the modem counted to 20, and reconnected. Immediately had internet service with the wire, checked the netgear website for any upgrades to the router, and started the Netgear wizard... The connection wizard did its thing took 15 minutes to go through the checks and instructions and questions including the need for a SSID (Wireless connection name), and a 8-32 digit wap2 passphraze. Pulled the wire connection, and left clicked on the wireless icon on the right side of the taskbar. It displayed all the wireless connections in the neighborhood, including the one i just established. i clicked on the connection and it asked me for the wap2 passphrase, requiring the 20 digit code, and the netbook was using the protected wireless connection. I reconnected the two desktops and performed the bit torrent port forwarding in both systems... Go to the netgear website get your manual, and follow the instructions for setting up wireless http://www.netgear.com/Products/RoutersandGateways.aspx?for=Home+Networking JR - JR_the_postman
easiest and quickest way is to try a different restore point. That usually works. while it's doing that, you can also unplug your router at the beginning for about 2 min. and plug it back in, then wait for the restore to finish.
You might have to upload a drive, that's what happened when I had to restore my system, it erased the hard drive that the internet would connect to. my friend gave me the software from off of his computer, but I am pretty sure you can find it online. I bet that's what it is.
