Best Answer: Interesting. Apparently this camera is pickier than normal about Firewire cabling. The Panasonc instructions say: Turn Off PC & Camcorder Connect Firewire Turn on PC, then Camcorder (in VCR mode, of course) Take a look at the pdf file - Rhyled
