Monitors Monitors - Basic Information

LCD or CRT?

CRTs are big and heavy, but have the best video quality. LCDs or "flat panels" are sleek, thin, and energy efficient, but pricier.

What's a good resolution?

Resolutions give you the pixel count across and vertically on your screen. The higher the count, the better the picture. 1,280x1,024 pixels is a decent max.

Go widescreen?

Widescreen is a plus for watching movies or more screen work area. Opting for an adjustable stands to reduce neck strain is also a good investment.
