CRTs are big and heavy, but have the best video quality. LCDs or "flat panels" are sleek, thin, and energy efficient, but pricier.
Resolutions give you the pixel count across and vertically on your screen. The higher the count, the better the picture. 1,280x1,024 pixels is a decent max.
Widescreen is a plus for watching movies or more screen work area. Opting for an adjustable stands to reduce neck strain is also a good investment.
