Printers Printers - Basic Information

Inkjet or laser?

Inkjets are cheaper and great for color photos, but cost you later in cartridges. Lasers are pricey, but they print quickly and do text well.

Can I get a fax and copier, too?

Yep, just go with a multifunction printer, which combines copier, scanner, printer, and—in some models—fax.

What cables do I need?

All new printers take a USB, but older ones still use the big parallel cable. You could even go wireless with a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth printer.
