What’s a “Gig?”

One gigabyte, or GB, is a billion bytes of data storage. The more GBs, the more room for digital photos, programs, and files on a hard drive.

Upgrade my hard drive?

If you're run out of room on your computer for photos and music, you need more "gigs;" so yes, you should upgrade. Just get help if updating a laptop.

What’s DVD-RW drive?

It's a device that lets you write to high-capacity discs. DVDs hold 4.7GB, which is why they're best for burning big movie files.
