Apple MacBook buying guide

By Alexander Yoon - Posted Wed Jul 16, 2008 6:19PM EDT

Apple laptops are the hot item in mobile computing these days, but with several different options, it's hard to choose the right one for you. The 15-inch MacBook Pro has a 5-hour battery life, GeForce 8600 GT graphics, plenty of horsepower, and a manageable size, making it the best MacBook all around. If the Pro is out of your price range or is too big for your lifestyle, consider one of the standard MacBooks. These notebooks are smaller, have many similar features as their Pro counterparts (however no discreet graphics chip), and have a very attractive price point. As for the Air, I recommend sticking with the standard MacBook unless size is by far (and I mean really far) your first and foremost priority. And finally, the 17-inch MacBook Pro will raise eyebrows with its massive screen and lightning speed, but don't expect to be lugging this notebook around comfortably.

Uh oh! We're having server trouble.

Our team is on it and we should have everything back to normal shortly. Please come back soon.
