Sometimes your laptop just doesn't have enough capacity for all your data storage needs. Enter the portable drive. They come in all shapes and sizes, but the best, of course, are small. Here's a sampling of drives I've used to excellent effect (in no particular order). All come in a variety of capacities; the linked product is just an example. And remember to consider a few key points: the physical size of the drive (some are small enough to pocket); the interface (USB or FireWire); and whether the drive requires external power (most do).
