Will my computer run Windows 7 decently?

I have a Dell 700m. 1.25 gb RAM, 1.6 mhz processor, 64mb video (plus shared memory), running 1280*800 resolution. I have the opportunity to buy Windows 7 for $30 because I'm a student. I currently run XP Home. Will my computer be able to run it decently? I know I won't be able to use the 'aero' stuff like transparency and transitions and whatnot, which doesn't bother me a bit. I just want to make sure I'll be able to run it to begin with and it won't run slowly.

What to do about recent youtube channel advertisement?

yesterday , ive never noticed it before on my youtube channel page , on the right where my favourites are displayed in the sidebar, at the top is an ' advertisement ' , ive never noticed this before, especially on my channel page.
i find youtube advertisements very annoying at best when you click on the youtube home link, and you see all your subscriptions etc, and you see all these featured videos and advertisements .
does anybody know what i can do about this intrusive advertisement on my youtube channel ?
has anybody noticed this advertisement on their channel page and what can you do about it ?
i could go and use Firefox with the ad blockers in place but i cant be bothered, im using google chrome and have multiple tabs open, and have got used to using google chrome for the time being.
someone help !

I am doing a class presentation and need to make a video. I am using a laptop with no real software other than Powerpoint. I need to make a video of a guy on a motorcycle who sparks a match to light a cigar, in which then he drops the match into a gas(i want to see the match fall into the gas) leading to an explosion as he drives away. What is the simplest way of doing this
