How can I hood up a home theater system without a audio output on the TV? - Trevr S
I have cable tv and I want the sound to be played through my surround sound system like the dvd player. But with no audio outputs on my TV, the only other way to do it is to run the sound out a VCR and change channels using the VCR. The problem is That I dont have a VCR. Is there any other way I can get sound from the TV to the home theator system?

carl. If I ran the tv through the receiver I would have to use the receiver to change the channels. I do not know of any receiver that does this. I think you might be thinking I have a cable box. which I dont. If I did have a cable box this option would work because you would change the channels at the box and not the tv. My cable runs from the wall straight to the tv.

bbt91945 It is an older color tube RCA. It only has 1 inputs (composit cable) and 1 coax for cable
My Home theater system is a Sony STR-DG800 7.1-Channel receiver.
with a center, 2 front, 2 rear, and a sub, all sony speakers

Im looking for an alternative to a Receiver for my LCD TV? - siphonsblood
Im looking for some alternatives to using a receiver to get some better sound from my LCD tv. I have a great home theatre setup in the living room but that seems a bit over the top for a small bedroom. Anyone know of some decent speakers that can go straight from the digital audio out on a TV?

I customized this computer on CyberPowerPC.
question about the RAM, is the 4GB DDR2/1066 a good speed? I wonder because it's the minimum for the motherboard (I think) and my only other choices, in this specific computer, was DDR2 800 and I'm hoping that 1066 is fast enough for some occasional to frequent gaming, heavy internet browsing, etc...
also, I didn't include a monitor in that customization because I can buy a cheaper monitor at the same sizes at the ones on the site. Will all of the components work together? How is the graphics card, is it good? etc...etc... any help and suggestions would be appreciated.
By the way, the current total for that customization is $779 and my budget is going to be between $800 and 900 so I hope that this will work...

can i use satellite speakers of a different brand? - Flash! F
I have polk audio front and rear speakers for my home theater, but i would like to add some satellite speakers for my 6th and 7th speaker to make it a 7.1 system. The polks are bigger bookshelf type speakers and the rca's are satellite. Would this sound ok since its just the 6th and 7th or will they sound off.
