If i have deleted a USB thumbdrive, how can it be recovered? - Anonymous
This didnt happen to me, but i want to know how they can recover information from corrupted, deleted, or broken flash memory? i know on old-style hard drives, storage was magnetic information on a disk that they could extract... how does recovery work with flash?

what do they do exactly to extract information?

Redesigning network, server and storage for animation studio? - pimediaunited
Hi,

I run a small animation studio 11 people, we have 12 computers and a few laptops that are connected by an older LAN system.
The animation files themselves are rarely very large, however our background and art work can sometimes be upto 500mb-1Gb in size but is mostly in the 200mb range per file. These need to be transmitted across the LAN for storage.

For storage we have a NAS 1.5TB set up on a RAID array. We also do weekly backups to a remote storage unit. I am not at all happy with the way we have everything setup, its just a dozen PC's attached to a LAN with basic storage and backup.

We are going to be touching 20-25 people on our next project that begins in Feb 2010. i am hoping to reboot my network and storage systems as well as move to a server set up for permissions, security and backup.

I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on the type of ethernet cables, servers and storage and back up systems we should look into.

Thanks -
The OS we are running is Windows XP.
My exact problem is that the setup is fairly crude, while backups are automated and he system works i somehow dont feel its proffesional enough.
Add to it that we will be doubling up users on the network, i think something more proffeisonal and foolproof would be ideal.
How does one pick a server? i.e.what sort of specs?

Question about my sister's cellphone memory card? - john (wants to ask her!)
On the slot it says microSD but she wants to buy a 4GB microSDHC (high capacity) card. will it still work?

im not sure if high capacity just means more storage space, or is a whole different kind of memory card that wont be compatible

Can I get my hard drive storage back? - prondexro
My laptop had Vista on it and it crashed. I downgraded it to XP with the help of a friend. I have a 160GB hard drive and wanted a set up like when the laptop had Vista. When My Computer was open, it would show one drive (C:) as 80GB and another (D:) for more storage away from the OS files. I told my friend I wanted it set up like that so he punched some numbers on the blue screen before formatting. It didn't work. I only have 80GB right now. Is there a way to get the other 80GB back with out formatting?

how to connect a SATA internal hard drive to a windows vista desktop computer? 10 points for best answer.? - Ibrahim
it it as simple as getting the right cord (the red one i think) and plugging one end to the HDD and the other to the slot on the motherboard?. does this automatically make it the 'slave' hard drive and make it ready to use for storage? will give 10 points to the most helpful answer
