Wi-Fi for the iPod Touch?

When I get the iPod Touch and unbox it, do I need Wi-Fi to turn it on and use it?
I don't have a Wi-Fi router. It's just a normal DSL router. Also, I don't really want to go to Starbucks or any other place just to turn on the iTouch.

Without jailbreaking it, is iTunes absolutely necessary for the iPod Touch or is there another software?
Also...
Do I need wi-fi to turn on the iTouch or do anything when I unbox it?

Hi! So I'm looking for the perfect notebook/laptop to put on my Christmas list. This is the list of specifications that I really want but I know it's not possible to get all of them in one computer:
-Raised Keyboard
-Color pink or white
-12"-13.9" screen size
-Under 4 lb.
-CD/DVD drive
-$700 or less
-Wi-Fi
Basically what I'm going to be doing on it is updating my Facebook, going on youtube and iTunes, and checking my e-mail. But I will also be using it for school work. When I travel I love bringing my computer with me.
And I'm not so great when it comes to technical terms so please try to keep it simple.

okay so i currently have two pc's.. and im going to take the leap of faith this christmas and treat myself to a new macbook pro. But looking on the site they give you so many things that you "Should" buy and i dontknow whati NEED to buy. like whatisthis airport thing that their saying i should get? i have wifi in my house but do i need that to have the mac connect to it??
And while im here on a side note what is this "Bootcamp" that i keep seeing everywere. like im getting this for school mainly but i would like to play some games on it of course. will it actully play mainstream games like CoD4 or somethin or do i need to buy that bootcamp thing too?
as you can tell im completly lost in the PC => Mac switch up. any thing helps!!! =]

I bought an itouch a while back and i havnt been able to connect it to the internet, for starters i know there is wi fi in my house because if u bring a laptop it works perfectly, but when i try to connect my itouch, the user comes up with 3 bars, so i try to enter the password but my password is only 6 characters and it only lets u press join once youve entered 8.
and i dont have a router only a modem

Does the 360 have built in wi-fi connection capabilities? I don't think I have anything to plug a cable into. If it doesn't, what could I get to make the wi-fi work for the lowest price.
I mean to use xbox live, not to use the internet. If I need an adaptor, what is a cheap one I can get?

Okay well I have been thinking about buying an ipod touch lately, I was going to put off buying the ipod touch until spring 2010 because I heard rumors that the ipod touch would be getting a camera.
But now I want to buy one this friday because since it's black friday, walmart will have a good deal on it ( ipod touch 8GB 3gen $195 with a $50 itunes giftcard) but I'm still not sure if I should buy it or not.
I'm kinda torn between buying the ipod touch and the ipod nano since the nano has a video camera. I think I might be able to toughen it out and just buy the ipod touch.
1-Is the ipod touch really as great as people say it is?
2-What types of apps can you get on it?
3- How's the Wi-Fi internet on it?
4-Is it worth $200?
5-What would you buy? itouch or nano?

an ipod touch 3rd generation G or N like the wi-fi from the ipod picks up internet on G or N and im just buying the router for the ipod i dont have an laptop yet so can you tell me wat does an laptop have G or N and what is the difference between G and N which one is better.
