Playstation 3 help please?

since yesterday every time i turn my ps3 on, a message comes up saying that last time i played the ps3 i hadn't turned it off properly and that i had to either turn it off again by pressing the power button for two seconds or by doing it via the ps button on the remote control, otherwise ill lose saved data or the system will not work properly, this has happened every time i Switch the ps3 on since yesterday, but the thing is i have been turning it off properly, the way i always turn it off, which is pressing the on and off button at the back of the ps3, could you tell me why this is happening, the other thing, ive only just brought modern warfare 2 and it downloaded perfectly and then on the installing part, half way through it, it stopped and said installation error, i pressed the x button and went on the game again, but this time there was just a black screen and nothing else and the only way to get rid of it is to turn the ps3 off, can you tell me why it is not working and also how i could fix it if possible, otherwise i will replace the game. The game is brand new and not second hand.
I appreciate any answers.

When I installed and downloaded and whatever why I try to play before anything starts it says
" Unable to connect to server. You must be signed into the playstation network. update your system to the latest version, and update this game to the latest version to play this title.Press OK to try again.
I know there is a big update but I dont have a chance to download cuz it says this everytime? and everything else is done like signing in and stuff?
Does anyone know whats wrong?

Which is best ? Xbox360 or Playstation 3. and why. I have a xbox elite and all the latest games but have never played a playstation 3 or played it online. i just need some feedback from people who have.

its in when i play games, when i play games such as uncharted 2, or GTA or Infamous even Littlebigplanet the background objects such as poles, stairs are moving. Im not sure if thats the right word but when ever the character moves the objects move and have wavy lines and it stops as soon as i stop BTW: I tried 2 new HDTV's one is 32 inch samsung 1080p and the other is LG 32 inch and both have same problem i did notice my HDMI it has a dent where it says rocketfish and it is sorta bented could the HDMI be the problem?

ok, well i had a ps3 fat and a slim.
but this doesnt really matter really if its fat or not,
but i have a ps3 slim, and i was wondering, would it be better for the system to take the game out of the system before turning it off???

Ok so i have been told that if you have a Ps3 you can't play ps2 games on it, so we tried it and NO you can't play Ps2 games on Ps3 unless you have a chip.
I was also told that if you collect heaps of trophy's or a certain amount of trophy's, that you will unlock the machine and then will be able to then play Ps2 games on an Un-chipped Play-station-3.
Ok so my question is, is that true, that (You will be able to play Play-station-2 games on a PlayStation-3 after collecting an amount of trophy's??)
If this is true, how many do i have to collect?

So what actually are the trophy's for then? Do you get any kind of reward? or prize after a specific amount or???
I'm sorry "OnlinePr" If it's a stupid question, but i am a chick and don't know too much about playstations other then how to play GTA and few others. This was just what i was told by a 20yr old dude so i just believed it but just wanted confirmation. So i would appreciate NO insults thanks!

I put a brand new game in, and it flashes PlayStation then fades out. Then nothing else happens will not load game, any ideas of what to do?
Yea, it is like 5 years old. It's one of those slims, but it loads up the main screen Just not any games. IS there a ps2 cleaner maybe that would work

I created an account just today (November 17, 2009) and tried to log on on my PSP. For some reason it said my Signin ID or my password was incorrect. Is it because the playstation network was undergoing maintenance on this day or was it some other reason. I tried logging on using the URL on the computer but then it said that it was going through maintenance when I click Sign In. I'm so comfused right now and still so freakin excited to go download games but it's this one problem holding me back. Please answer me. Please!
