There is a software bug in the LG high def tuners. It was first discovered in Australia were it was big news. Do a search on "LG channel nine" and you will see countless newpaper articles. It appears that my TV has the same problem on Brighthouse networks in Florida. LG did a software update in Australia, which required a home service call, but they have yet to acknowledge the same problem in the states. Basically the TV picture will freeze, but the sound will continue. All the remote buttons become ineffective as well as the front panel buttons. If you hit the off button on the remote or the front panel, and wait 10 to 30 seconds, it will eventually turn off. You can then turn it back on and it will work for another 30 minutes or so. Very anoying. Buy any of the LG HDs at your own peril.

Canon is now charging for customer support for all products over one year old. You got to like companies that stand behind their products. I will get another band next time.
