Price: $299 - $299
They are pricey, if you spend a lot of time with them, they are definitely worth it. The sound is really great and the bass is very deep, though it does have a signature "Bosey" sound to it since it has to employ acoustic tricks to replicate low-frequencies at high volumes. No one around you will hear a think when you listen to them. You will still hear people talking around you, but they do remove ambient pretty well. I would definitely recommend these for the music, not to block out noise though. They are very comfortable and durable and when I broke part of the headband, Bose sent me a new pair. They require AAA, but they burn through them slowly and with rechargables its not the least bit burdensome.

I decided to splurge on these since they sounded so great at Magnolia hifi. Overall, they were very accurate and sounded better than the Bose Triport's I had been using before, but there were a couple things that disappointed me:
1. I didn't realize that "open" basically means that everyone around you can hear your music. Should have read up more, but that aspect was very disappointing.
2. The bass wasn't that great, even though the quality of the mid and high-range was very good.
3. They were very finicky. I had to adjust the headphone plug to just the right angle in my USB DAC to get both channels to work and now I can almost never get both channels to work.
If you're going to spend this much you can do better.
Price: $73.99 - $73.99
I bought these to watch DVDs in the gym on a portable DVD player since no other headphones could block enough of the noisy gym sound. I was surprised at how well they blocked out sound and how good quality the sound and bass were. But I am not looking for a lower quality pair since these have grown uncomfortable and don't stay in my ears while running. The padded plugs also get somewhat cruddy over time.
Price: $139 - $139.95
If you're price range is between $100 and $200, these are undoubtably the best headphones for your money. The sound quality and bass are very impressive (though the bass is "Bosey") and they block a surprising amount of sound given they have no noise-cancellation and don't advertise themselves as noise-blocking. Music also stays in the headphones even at high volume. I lost them two years ago and would still be using them if I hadn't. But I ended up being very glad to upgrade to their higher-end cousins the Bose QuietComfort2s.
