Scanner Bulb Warming Up01/02/07

Our all-in-one was purchased for a self-storage office and performed admirably for a little over 2 years. Then the gray hairs showed up. Little things, like an occasional squeak. Then, the big problem came. The scanner bulb tried to warm up one day, and the machine locked up. Power cycling the machine fixed it, but only for a little while. This has become a 4-times-a-day occurance. I don't have time to wait while it warms up from the power cycle every time. This is an apparent design flaw from HP. Every time you make a copy, the scanner bulb is programmed to stay on for 12 hours. And a repair costs just a little less than a new machine. Very disappointed in the lack of support for their poor design.
