I very much like my Pioneer 5050HD TV. The sound is like unbelievable with just the standard speakers. My complaint is that the 4:3 format while good in quality, causes burn in on the edges where Pioneer attempts a blended border. By this, it's rarely black, mostly grey on the side. Because most t.v. is still in the 4:3 ratio burn in is almost instant. I've had the t.v. for less than 2 months and now in the 16:9 I have a lighter shade of color exactly where the 4:3 radio resides. Inside their instruction book they put a "sticker" in stating in part, "The following are typical effects and characteristics of a phosphor-based matrix display, and as such are not covered by the manufacturer's limited warranties:
. Permanent residual images upon the phosphors of the panel.
Tomorrow, I call Pioneer and express my displeasure. A $5,000 television should not be subject to a longevity of a quality picture to less than 2 months!

I live in a ranch home with a clear shot from the living room down the hall to my laptop which may be 60 feet. Worse case is I may shut my bedroom door when I do my work. I've had dropouts, very low signal strength and my local CompUSA says "buy the antenna extenders". If it were done right by cisco one wouldn't need antenna extenders! Cisco makes nice top end equipment. You would think they could make a reliable "speed boost"(hype) router. I looked for firmware upgrades, and so far I haven't found any. I'm going back to netgear. Another thing is support. I have never had a problem with Netgear. 24/7 they are there, and you don't wait until your next birthday for them to help you. The support is forever also. That's sweet. Extender antennas are $35-45. Not bad for two pieces of wired rubber. "Screwed on this one folks."
