After returning a Motorola SBG900 for lack of support (see 2nd review) I bought a Linksys. The Linksys Tech support helped setup WPA encryption and all is well with two PC laptops and an Apple Mac desktop. There have been 2 or 3 disconnections in 4 weeks which were solved by switching it off for 20 seconds then restarting. This disconnect frequency is much less than the Actiontec DSL modem which I used prior to the switch to cable.

Motorola SURFboard SBG900 Wireless Cable Modem Gateway

Poor Support from Motorola01/27/08

- Only WEP encription supported by Motorola tech
I returned the SBG900 after finding the setup process was inadequate and unclear for use of WPA encryption. A call to the Motorola tech help line resulted in NO help. Motorola policy the tech said is to not help setup WPA only WEP. I switched to a competitor which their tech did help us establish WPA encryption.
