Pros:
Everything,especially the expandable memory
Cons:
I suppose the dual usage of the stylus as a stand is pointless

The Cowon D2 deserves more recognition in this ipod clogged market. Having already owned an ipod, I feel free to say, this blows all versions of the ipod away (excluding the iphone, which is in a different category). Though I suppose it's not as stylish, big deal.

This player is operated via touchscreen, this can be annoying when on the go; and also invites smudges. It comes with a stylus that doubles as a stand for the player, the stand function is overrated, not to mention there is no practical place to store the stylus. I elected to use my finger, and kept the protective plastic cover for the screen on. It works just fine.

If you can get past the touchscreen deal, you'll love this player. It comes in 2&4 gigabyte forms, at first this sounds like nothing (it really is nothing); but, this player ingeniously includes an SD card port! With 16/30 gigabyte SD cards on the horizon, you'll practically never run out of memory.

The sound output is the highest of all mp3 players I know of weighing in at 74 watts. It will deafen you at high volumes, not to mention the sound quality is excellent (it has 5 EQ settings and the option for a user defined EQ).

A great thing about buying from this no-name company is they show their support. They have released firmwares which add features to the player, and help increase functionality/ease of use in general.

This player also supports almost every conceivable practical file format. The screen is beautiful, a 24 bit display, 16.7 million colors, easily plays @ 30 fps. You can customize this player to your liking. You can set any image as the wallpaper, choose the color of the font, and even program the dedicated buttons for certain functions.

Movies look great.I recently went on a trip overseas, I wish I had this player for the grueling flights. 2.5 inches is completely sufficient to watch a movie on while traveling. The battery life is another major highlight of this player. It lasts over 50 hours for music,10 hours for video! I know of no other player with such battery life.

You may also use this player to listen to the radio, and program tons of presets in regards to the radio. You also can record any input sound (radio, even a darn record player if you decide to plug it in to the player). It has a microphone built in for voice recording as well. It has an tv input function, in essence, you can use it to watch a movie on your tv, though it remains in small size as far as I know. This player also has an auto on function. You can set it to turn itself on at a certain time; and if you please, use it as an alarm clock.

Keep in mind, this player is barely bigger than it's 2.5 inch screen. It will easily fit in your pocket. It has a hold function so it won't skip between songs when contacting items in your pocket, or wherever else you place it.

To sum it up. This player is very very reasonably priced as well as underrated. The quality and features are unmatched among compact multimedia players. The only player that even comes close is the iriver clix2. The downside in regards to the clix is that weighing in at 4 gigs (and an 8 soon), it's not enough memory in my opinion, there is no expandable port. You're stuck with what you have. The touchscreen takes some getting used to; and is not good for everyone.

It is ironic that several people that have criticized the cowon d2 to me in favor of the oh so cool ipod is since the iphone, and now the ipod touch are the cool thing to have, they're completely down with touchscreen interface. This touchscreen blows the ipod touch out of the water (with exception to the wi-fi capability of the new ipod touch, that is the only element superior to this player).
