I recommend another camera to this model, the Sony HDR-HC1. This is because you can pop in the tapes anytime and watch true HD footage AND you can still download the footage to your computer!
.
Once you download your footage from the HDRSR1 you will not be able to watch it in HD again until you buy a computer with a Blu-Ray HD Burner or buy a $800-$1000 external burner.
You want to talk about a memory hog?
1 hour of HD takes up minimum 30 gigs of space!
Better buy a $300 external hard drive too if you want to keep your videos...
Oh by the way even if you could burn HD better have a HD compatable DVD player;)

I purchased my HDR-HC1 in March of 2005. The camera is simple to operate, produces incredable video results and hasn't had any mechanical problems so far. I highly recommend the optional larger battery, the 71 series. There are so many usefull and artistic features that I don't think I'll ever use but that's okay because the auto settings make operation a breeze. The optical zoom works well allthough the zoom button is ultra sensative, zooming in and out a little too quickly. The steady shot feature works very well, disable this feature if using a tripod for even greater video quality. I highly recommend the High definition casettes to ensure your getting the best images. Stay away from internal hard drive high definition cameras as you won't be able to watch HD once you download it to your computer unless you can afford a computer with the HD software and a Blu-ray/HD burner. With tapes you can pop them into the camera and watch anytime you wish.

I purchased this laptop 2 months ago with the 1.83 Duo Core porcessor, 1 Gig RAM, 7200 RPM 60 Gig HD, Windows media center and office basic and True life screen.
The computer is really quite fast and trouble free thus far. I am able to perform tasks such as a defrag, Virus scan, Burn a CD, listen to a song and surf the net all at once without a hint of hesitation. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it and this is my 3rd Dell computer (Wife B-day Laptop, Home computer, This Laptop). It comes with some helpfull features such as a multi card reader, for what ever type of memory stick I may need.
I don't like all the extra junk programs they cram onto the desktop.
Oveall I'm very satisfied.
