I really resisted getting one for the longest time. My firm uses them, but I did not want to become a "Blackberry Drone" (as I fondly think of them)... I tried every way I could to get around it, but finally, I succumbed because I needed all-the-time access to my work e-mail.
This PDA does everything it purports to do REALLY well. Ease of use is awesome, even without the touch screen (which I miss). I had the 8525, then the Tilt, a Palm Treo 650, 750, and the Sony Ericsson P9100. So far, this is the simplest, most elegant, of all.
Really just depends on what you need your device to do, but I enjoy the heck outta this PDA!

I loved this phone, for about a minute. It's really gorgeous. Then stuff began to bug me. Like how difficult it is to place a call, either by the dialing feature, or by voice dial. And how the keyboard keys stick sometimes or are hard to press. How the bluetooth headset (even with the fix) just never worked right. And how the camera was worse than the one on the 8525, and the video function is pretty much unusable. And how abysmal the battery life is. Mind you, the phone has every feature you could ever want, and then some, but it misses on some really important basics.
I finally backed down and got a Blackberry Curve (which is what my office uses). I'd been resisting becoming a "Blackberry Drone" for the longest time, but you know, I get now why people love this machine. It does everything it's supposed to do really well. Though I do miss some of the WM6 functions, I have to admit. The sound quality on the phone is really great. Truly, I can't totally trash the device.
Ultimately, I guess it comes down to what you really need your phone to do.

Why can't one phone just have it all? I keep looking. I just set aside my Treo 750 for the AT&T 8525, with only a few regregs. This phone does many things so much better. First, the sound quality is simply excellent, and I don't know about you, but for me, that's up there at the top of what's important. I was really sick of my calls always getting dropped. It has a bigger screen, with the capability of making everything nice and large for viewing. I was tired of squinting at my tiny little screen. I love the ease of use of a stylus AND a scroll wheel AND a touch screen. All excellent. Battery life on the Treo 750 was what put me over the top... it was ridiculously bad. The 8525 is a huge improvement.
And yet... I miss the amazing "Today" screen of the Treo 750, with the keyboard right there. Its ease of use is the best yet, in my opinion.
Oh well... I'll have to deal. I need a phone I can rely on all the time, and this one is it, even though it takes some extra steps to get from here to there.

Wow, what a gorgeous phone this is. About a year ago, I dispensed with a home phone (too many phone numbers, too much $$) and have been using my Treo 650 as my one-and-only since then. I wanted to try the 750, see if there was any improvement, particularly in sound quality. You know what? Everything is great - in usual Treo fashion - and well worth the extra $$ spent to upgrade. The sound quality is markedly improved. Two of my biggest reasons for Treo over Blackberry are (1) aesthetics; this is a sleek, slim phone with a great QWERTY keyboard and a stylus (I'm partial to the stylus) and (2) having a camera phone. Although this purports to be the same 1.3 megapixel as the 650, I notice a huge improvement in picture quality. The messaging functions are also hugely improved -- the phone does just about everything but reach out and grab your arm when you have a message, text message or reminder. I love this phone!

I've had mine for about a year now. Believe me, it was worth its rather expensive price. It is cutting edge. The newer model, the P9010, has a tiny keyboard (for e-mail and text messaging) built into the flip side of the mouthpiece -- way cool. I'm wondering if there's a way I can upgrade the P900. Even without the keyboard, I love it. Has great battery life and all the best technology. Very easy to use. I took it out of the box, turned it on, and it was in use with no fuss or confusion. I also love the sound quality -- it sounds like you're talking on a land line, and not a cellphone.
Does it get any better? I think not.
