Chip resetter/Ink replacement

This is a great machine to use until ink needs to be replaced. There is a chip attached to each cartridge and it was a hassle to use a sharp object to take it out and put it on the new cartridge. So far...I'm frustrated because the printer does not recognize the cartridges. I'm not sure if this machine was worth the price I paid for...
