Defective a/c adapter

I just ordered this item and received it yesterday, June 26, 2006. I read the instructions and followed them to a tee. When the recorder did not "find" the disc, I opened it up to put another one in. The red light on the a/c adapter went out, and that was it. No a/c power. The adapter was shot within a minute of plugging it in.

I called Polaroid and they told me to try it with the d/c adapter. That did work, but they seemed to ignore the fact that they sent an adapter that is no good. They are going to replace the adapter, but not in time for our trip on the 30th (even with their "expediated shipping" they said it would be 5-7 days). They seemed not to care if they are shipping defective parts, which I feel they knew as they told me they did not need the old one back.

I will update this when I return from the trip and let everyone know if it continues to work, or if the entire unit is as bad as the a/c adapter.
