A great little camera. Like another reviewer I "never leave the house without one." I have been able to capture images that I would have missed as I would not be carrying my larger and heavier camera.
Like any camera, a tripod should always be used. However, carrying a tripod with a camera this small somewhat defeats the utility of carrying this camera. (Maybe I'll get a monopod).
The macro is quite sharp to enlargements of 100%.

- Some difficulty focusing close-ups, no real anti-shake
I specifically chose this camera because of the versatile lens being permanently attached. Carrying extra lenses that may or may not be used is not cost effective nor fun on long hikes. Changing lenses during rainy or windy conditions opens up opportunity for moisture and/or dust to enter.
The fold-out viewscreen is always extremely handy.
I adjust exposure using the histograph. Also very handy.
I use a Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod that allows me to get "down and dirty" without fear of gumming up the camera works.
