I just bought this Scanner to replace a UMAX Astra 2100u which failed after only 6 months and the company would not stand behind the warranty.
First the size is incredibly narrow. It works vertically or horizontally and it is three times quicker than my old scanner.
There is no Power cord! the power is gained through the USB connection. There is no conventional flouressent lamp. Instead it uses low powered LED\'s which do not vary in color over time. While the 670 is consider low end by canon, it has all the features anyone could want with copy, fax, scan buttons built in to the machine.
Quality of photos are great. The included software is good, especially the full version of omni pro.
Scanning to picture it publisher was easy, I also scanned to MGI\'s phot publisher which I got better results with than previous scans with other equipment.
All in all Great value for the price
